During New Years celebrations Copacabana Beach becomes a living sea of people dressed in white, holding glowing candles, as celebrations of the Goddess of the Sea gets started. At midnight the celebration of life begins: the music is infectious and the first Samba for the year strikes up.

Numerous animals of the Galapagos Islands have developed into diverse species from their continental relatives, and because they have never experienced man as a predator, they show no fear of humans.

The Galapagos is a wildlife heaven, and these are just a small sampling of the strange and astonishing creatures to be seen.
